Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’ and Tom Hooper’s ‘Les Miserables’ took home three and four awards respectively.
Top prize or Best Film at the ceremony at London’s Royal Opera House was won by Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’. Ben Affleck himself stars in the movie. He also won the award for the Best Director.
Ben’s wife was very happy as her husband took to the stage and she could not stop her tears.HE thanked the audience for extending their support as they whole-heartedly accepted his transition from acting to directing. He calls directing his ‘second act’.
‘Argo’ producer George Clooney accepted the Best Film gong. He also hailed Ben Affleck as incredible.
The third award that ‘Argo’ won was for its editing.
‘Les Miserables’ swiped away with four awards. These awards included Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway, Production Design, Sound and Hair and Make-Up.
Other big winners included Daniel Day-Lewis who won Best Actor for ‘Lincoln’, Emanuelle Riva winning Best Actress for ‘Amour’ and Christoph Waltz who took home the Best Supporting Actor gong for ‘Django Unchained’.
After the ceremony, the official DISARONNO after party was attended by the stars at the Grosvenor House Ballroom.
